DVP`s work can`t be summarized in just one or two sentences. One really needs to take on the time to browse his work, as there`s a story to be discovered in every image. In today`s over commercialized society, it`s always good to discover artists that are original. DVP is one of them. He has a feel for human emotions and the eye to catch them and he combines that with skills like framing and composing, and with extensive technical skills. His approach is not editorialist or journalistic. Instead is close to what a painter does (see “Woman alone” “non-thought” and “beyond”). I conclude by saying that DVP`s work, is like painting in today`s digital medium.

You had the power to make me love the camera and feel comfortable in front of it. I was the one who had the idea of WHAT represents me (coloured crayons), but you were the one with the idea(s) of HOW to best portray me, HOW to best portray „the colours of my spirit“ – in my opinion a key-quality when it comes to being a photographer.
Vlad Dumitrescu-Petrica is a good leader, reliable and trust insipiring having the ability to think in perspective and to pay attention to details. Cooperating with him I discovered that he masters strategies discovering opportunities, he also encourages self-improvement, inspiring others through his own example.

For me it started as a game, but soon I realized that even though he lets me act my childlike scenarios while posing, he remains the professional eye behind the camera that gives his subject the opportunity to unfold its personality, while he’s focused to capture the subtle essence of it. The maturity and integrity with which he protects the world he’s witnessing made him to this day the only photographer to take my artistic portraits. The only one I trusted with the intricate ways of the soul and strange highlights of the mind.
Vlad is a very enthousiastic and hard working man. During the 3 months stay as a volunteer in the Netherlands, at the Richter Youth-foundation in Den Helder, he impressed everyone by doing as many activities a regular volunteer would do in one year. His workshop about photography is still legendary. His knowledge about photography is supported with good examples that keeps his workshop interesting and lively. During his stay he prepared a photo&film exhibition with impressions of his stay in the magnificent city of Den Helder, a city almost totally surrounded by water.

Our professional experience with Vlad Dumitrescu-Petrică is the cooperation in international youth project and exchange “My way for making the future” (Struga, Macedonia). It’s main aim was to engourage young people to use the photography as a method of showing their dificult situation in finding jobs and employability. Vlad was one of the participants from Romania and he was active in a way to see his qualities as a very communicative person who help us with organization a very nice presentation to inform other participants about basics, new trends and facts in the photography world. I recognize Vlad as excellent leader and a proactive learner. He has great experience and knowledge about photography education and development, facilitating, project management and more. Vlad constantly seeks to upgrade his knowledge and has extraordinary will to make things happen.

Inspiring captions of the living, whether it´s about the colorful humanity or the surprisingly nature, Vlad´s photos varies from pure and simple up to luxuriant richness, just like an array of fruits. Behind the lens there is a sense of friendship, amusement and earnestness regarding his personality. It´s a pleasure to work with him and a privilege to admire the results!
My creative collaboration with Vlad on the international project, LEFT-HANDED & Creative, opened new horizons about my role in the creative industries and social entrepreneurship. Our meetings made me realize what teamwork really means. They encourage me to be even more organized and continue to develop new innovative projects.

I know three things about this man: he’s feeding his soul with mountain hiking, he’s always excited when listening to Mozart and he’s taking pictures with great enthusiasm. He started almost from scratch, but quickly evolved through consistency and respect for his job. Vlad has his way personal approach to photography. He simply makes you feel good and close to your way of being, without fireworks, with a drop technique, a drop of experience and two drops of art. I don’t know how, but he has his fingerprint.
As a photographer, Vlad is amazing! He knows how to communicate, ask questions and understand the model in order to get the best results. He is paying attention at the details, model and concentrates on the whole concept of the shooting
